The turn of the 20th century marked the beginning of an
extraordinary partnership between two of the most innovative
minds of the moment. Henry Royce a successful engineer and
Charles Rolls, owner of the UK’s first motor car dealership,
agreed to sell motor cars under the name Rolls-Royce.
At
that time a new company was made: Rolls-Royce.
Design
The Rolls-Royce Drophead shows a more relaxed and less formal side of Rolls-Royce. It shows a sociable character with an interior that evokes the feeling of being on board an elegant yacht. The Design is based on the 2003 Rolls-Royce Phantom, but the styling from a concept car, the 100EX. The exterior of the Drophead continues with the theme of the 100EX, such as the face and the headlight which are combined LED and Xenon arc lamps.
Interiors
The interior as all Rolls-Royce’s is handcrafted with the finest materials over the course of many weeks. This helps create the intimate and cocooning feel. With the roof up or down you will always be driving in luxury. The Drophead’s rear hinged doors allow for easy access in and out of the rear lounge. The fabric roof is made from five layers of material including cashmere creating a quite and comfortable atmosphere in the vehicle with the roof closed.
